Education Centre, Fairfield General Hospital
Rochdale Old Road

DETAILS:

The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust will be hosting the first ever Health and Wellbeing Conference for people over 50.

The team have put together a packed programme of talks, exercise and mindfulness taster sessions and opportunities in a one-stop marketplace for advice, information and signposting to local services.

The physiotherapy team at the Trust understand the importance of promoting fitness and wellbeing for active ageing. They host annual events in October to coincide with International Older People’s Day and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy campaign to Get up and Go!

Angela Barrett, Assistant Director of Allied Health Professions, Bury & Rochdale Care Organisation at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said: “This event will be a great opportunity for people to access advice from a wide range of professionals. Our advice will help you stay healthy as you grow older.”

The event will demonstrate the contribution Allied Health Professionals can make towards active ageing, in line with AHPs Into Action. It also supports the Greater Manchester Moving Plan to reduce inactivity and social isolation across Greater Manchester. Bury Council, community and charity organisations are excited to be involved in delivering a packed programme to promote active ageing.

The event will be held on Friday 13 October, 12.30 pm – 5.00 pm in the Education Centre, Fairfield General Hospital, Rochdale Old Road, Bury, BL9 7TD
