Brian Gumbley, from 'Always with a Smile' and Zoe Attwood, Littleborough Events and Associations Forum (LEAF), are bringing The World Beer Keg Carrying Championship to Littleborough.
The aims of the 'Always With A Smile' foundation are simple... Firstly, to raise money and awareness for charities and good causes. Secondly, to inspire and motivate people to do something that they have never before considered. And finally, to make the world a happier place by putting a smile on the face of as many people as possible.
So what's it all about we hear you ask? Well basically teams of people will run up the Roman Road over the road from The Moorcock up to The White House carrying a beer keg filled with water. This tough up hill course will challenge even the fittest.
Races will be split into a men's, women's and children's race.
Racing in teams of 4 you will carry the keg up the hill.
Lastly will be the lunatics. Solo teams of hardened individuals who will carry the keg on their own. Up for it?
Registration for the event will start at The Moorcock Inn at 10am.
The event follows other successful events held across the country including the World Gravy Wrestling Championships and World Coal Carrying Championships.
