Event: Rochdale Ramblers - Sunday Walks

Sunday 27 January 2019
10.30am

Booth Wood Reservoir and Beyond
Meet at Booth Wood Reservoir car park
A672 Denshaw to Ripponden Road
Nearest Postcode HX6 4RQ

DETAILS:

Moderate circular walk, distance = 9 miles.

From the car park we head up to Rishworth Lodge, a Grade II listed building, which has now been converted into apartments.  From here we head over to Boan Cottage then onto a series of grassy trails leading to Lower and Higher Wormald.

We then walk on the open moors with Cat Moss and Warm Withens Hill in the distance.  This takes us to Green Withens Reservoir passing through Castle Dean Rocks before arriving at Oxygrains Old Bridge. To avoid walking on the A672 we cross over and follow an indistinct path which will take us back to Booth Wood Reservoir.

Points of interest: Rishworth Lodge and Castle Dean Rocks.

Please note, that due to the popularity of these walks, car sharing whenever possible would reduce parking congestion.

Advise: Walking Boots, Waterproofs if needed, adequate clothing, snack and drink.

Generally dogs are not permitted, with exception of Registered Assistance Dogs, but anyone wishing to bring a dog should contact the Walk Leader in advance to obtain His/Her consent or otherwise.

Contact Andy or Denise for further information on this walk.
