Artist and filmmaker Karel Doing will run a filmmaking workshop in the 'phytogram' filmmaking method, which uses the internal chemistry of plants to create photographic images on film and paper. Participants will learn a simple hands-on process that yields spectacular results and can easily be continued independently.

The workshop is open to people age 12+ and no former experience or knowledge is necessary. Lunch and refreshments provided.

Since 1990 Karel Doing has been creating films, performances and installations focusing on sensorial and environmental topics. Through the study of material process, the recording of oral history and the (re)use of cinematic heritage, he explores alternative knowledge systems. His work has been shown worldwide in cinemas, galleries, museums and on stage and he has has given workshops and lectures internationally at Willem de Kooning Academy, Piet Zwart Institute, KABK, Nordland Kunst og Filmfagskole, FAMU, University of East London, Ravensbourne College and School for New Dance Development. He is presently based in Cambridge and London.

Analogue Farm is a Community Interest Company based on a former working farm, close to Healey Dell Nature Reserve and the South Pennine moors, yet within an hour of Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds. We offer arts workshops, events and exhibitions inspired by our surrounding environment, that involve direct tactile engagement with analogue technologies and the land. We understand plants, trees, wildlife and community as of utmost importance, aiming to benefit future generations beyond our lifetime.
