Come join us on Sunday 25th August 2019 for an extra-special family fun day, jam-packed with exploration, discovery and experiments for all the family as Rochdale Science Initiative celebrates the beautiful spectrum of science.

With stalls, workshops, talks and performances from young people 'Rochdale's got Science Talent' will take over Kashmir Youth Project.

Explore space inside a 360° VR planetarium.

Get up close and personal with Dippy skull and Dippy on tour Rochdale team's dinosaur activities.

See Kakou's introduction to robotics - remote controlled robot cars that you can drive around a maze circuit, programming of microbits and also a large hand controlled by water syringes.

Our own PhD student Hasina Begum will not only bring many experimental activities, she will also be showcasing a sound haptic device, which uses sound interaction and tactile sensation for computer applications.

Our own Divya recently graduated from Leeds University and will be leading a range of exciting, family-friendly DIY science activities that all ages can enjoy.

Zoo2U will also join us, their core values are to interact, educate and inspire with their fantastic array of exotic animals.

Fun-Science will perform a full theatrical science show based on 'Young People in Science'. They will provide a science experiment stand and conduct outdoor experiments.

Aqualease Rock pools are a unique habitat. During low tide, the sea unveils a plethora of interesting species left behind in rocky levels, each one equipped to cope and adapt to constantly changing environments. Managed by experienced marine-rangers they will provide a remarkable hands-on experience with species such as Mussels, Crabs, Blennies and Starfish.

Institute of Physics regional manager of North West has kindly put together physics experiment, crafts, space themed stories and games to be enjoyed.

Science and Industry Museum will put together hands-on activities, experiments and displays.

IMIJS Art Studio's self taught artist Javed will be creating audience participation collaborative art, exploring patterns, physics and paint.
