6pm - 7pm

Rochdale Sixth Form College Theatre
College Road
Rochdale
OL12 6HY

DETAILS:

When you are autistic, you experience pretty much everything differently – including realising you might not be straight or cis.

Erin Ekins is a queer, autistic blogger who was part of the Channel 4 documentary Are You Autistic? and her blog, Queerly Autistic, has been featured on Victoria Derbyshire and Radio 5 Live.

Erin focuses on autism, invisible disability and LGBTQIA+ issues from the experience of an autistic adult, engaging audiences up and down the country to raise awareness about equality, intersectionality, attitudes towards autistic people, and the importance of holding to account authorities who fail those who are autistic, disabled and LGBTQIA+.

This event is sponsored by Rochdale in Rainbows. Suitable for: Ages 14+.

The festival box office is located at Touchstones Rochdale. Open Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm.

Rochdale Literature & Ideas Festival is aimed at celebrating and promoting the Maskew Collection of classic literature and philosophy at Rochdale Central Library, encouraging people to engage with books and ideas. Rochdale couple, Annie and Frank Maskew, met in Rochdale Library in the 1950s and shared a passion for reading and thinking. They left a sum of money to be used on resources and events related to literature and philosophy to ensure classic works are available for future generations.

Entry fee: Book in advance - £4
