DETAILS:

Are you interested in art and craft?

Would you like to learn new skills and meet people?

Please join us for an afternoon of fun and creativity at Rochdale Pioneers Museum, Tuesday 25th February, 12.30pm - 2.30pm.

The workshop is open to everyone and no previous experience is necessary. All activities are free and fully accessible to blind and partially sighted people.

Activities include clay modelling, 3D art sculptures, needle-free knitting, felting and jewellery making.

What to expect on the day (From Shona and Faye – Community Art Leaders at RNIB)

As volunteers for the Royal National Institute of Blind People and students from Manchester School of Art, we’re setting up community art projects specifically designed to accommodate visually impaired people.

We have previously worked with Henshaws, helping to run an arts and crafts workshop in Sale. There, we gained knowledge of how an arts and crafts group can be used to support those with sight loss, teaching people new skills and creating a wonderful opportunity to socialise.

We are now pleased to offer our own workshops including activities such as clay modelling, making 3D art sculptures, needle free knitting, felting and jewellery making. This might sound intimidating, especially if you haven’t made anything before, but don’t worry!  No experience is needed - we’ll teach you everything you need to know and can provide extra assistance where required.

We’ll be working with the Co-operative Pioneer’s Museum in Rochdale in their communal space. We’re looking forward to meeting everyone!
