A VIRTUAL CONFERENCE TO CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH!

With the theme Resetting the Mindset, special guests at the conference include:

The story of Black History Month begins in 1915, half a century after the 13th amendment abolished slavery in the United States.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements and a time for recognising the central role of blacks in history all over the world. Also known as African American History Month, it is celebrated to have a better understanding of our shared history.

Celebrating Black History Month honors the historic leaders of the black community and the sacrifice and suffering they endured to secure the rights and freedoms we enjoy in the present. It also helps create awareness of the past so that we can appreciate the privileges we’ve gained.

Celebrating reminds us that black history is our history, and provides an opportunity to highlight the best of black history and culture.
