Steven Clegg and Kevin Crossdale have started the North West Gas Training and Assessment Centre in Rochdale.
Mr Clegg said: “This is something I have wanted to do for several years, and there has been a need for it in the Rochdale area.”
The 'Open Day' attracted people from throughout the North West, with 'the tape' cut by Chris Robinson of Gas Safe Register, who said: “We always encourage the public to only use suitably qualified and competent Gas Safe registered engineers, so training for engineers is vitally important.”
The centre will cater for beginners through to established engineers who need to be periodically reassessed.
