Jobs created by new McCarthy and Stone Bamford development

Date published: 28 August 2018

McCarthy and Stone has employed a team of local contractors in Bamford and the surrounding areas to deliver its new Butterworth Grange development.

Since construction got under way, the development has created a number of jobs for tradespeople in the area; and McCarthy and Stone estimates that 20 people are currently working on site every day, including bricklayers and scaffolders.

It is also estimated that, as the site continues to progress, a further 20 jobs in areas such as plumbing, electrics, and tiling will follow, boosting the number to around 40 people working on the development each day.

Adam Smith, site manager at Butterworth Grange on Norden Road, commented: “McCarthy and Stone’s commitment to sourcing its tradespeople from the local work pool is providing a welcome boost to the wider community of Bamford.

“Through the construction programme at Butterworth Grange, we have already employed a number of local contractors. We cannot stress enough the importance of helping to create employment opportunities for local workforces and family businesses; and, as work progresses on site at Butterworth Grange, we will continue to recruit construction professionals and tradespeople from Bamford and surrounding areas.”
