CockaDoodleMoo Rochdale to close and rebrand under new name in New Year

Date published: 29 October 2018

CockaDoodleMoo on Yorkshire Street will cease trading on 18 November, a statement released by chief taste tester Henry Yau confirmed on Monday (29 October).

However, the venture will reopen in the new year as a new casual dining adventure, WowYauChow in January 2019.

The news comes just months after the meat shack launched a cocktail bar, citing the reason as 2018 being a ‘difficult’ year.

Mr Yau, in his statement, said: “CockaDoodleMoo Rochdale has had many memorable moments over the past three years, all of which were only made possible with the support of the great people of Rochdale and beyond, which we are truly grateful for.

“2018 has been a very challenging year for us and many other businesses across the country, and as a result, we have now made the difficult decision to cease trading as CockaDoodleMoo Rochdale on 18 November 2018, however we are delighted to announce that we will be introducing our new casual dining Chinese restaurant, WowYauChow in its place during January 2019.

“We will be launching our casual dining Chinese restaurant first in Altrincham by December 2018, and immediately after, we will re-launch our Rochdale site as the second WowYauChow.

“WowYauChow is a Chinese casual dining concept born from the same spirit as CockaDoodleMoo and combines outstanding food, great service and amazing value for money, housed within our signature quirky environments.

“We are firmly focused on the growth and development of the EatsMeatsWest Group (sic), and hope with your continued support, the introduction of our new casual dining Chinese brand will be greatly received by the borough of Rochdale and the surrounding areas.

“A massive ‘thank you’ to all our awesome Moo followers throughout our Rochdale journey. We hope that you will all join us again for the start of our WowYauChow journey in January 2019.”
