Browns Family Jewellers welcome return of long-standing staff member

Date published: 14 March 2020

Browns Family Jewellers has welcomed a long-standing staff member back to its fold.

Sales assistant Leanne McClafferty returned to the Yorkshire Street jewellers in late January, formerly the site of Albemarle & Bond Pawnbrokers, where she had worked for 18 years.

One of Yorkshire’s leading high street jewellers, Browns moved into Rochdale in November 2019, just weeks after the closure of Albemarle & Bond, retaining the staff.

After a short period working elsewhere, Leanne has been welcomed back.

Leanne said: “I missed the staff and the nice, friendly atmosphere. When Browns opened, I came back.

“I’ve been here since I was 20; I was drawn in by the diamonds and gemstones.

“I’m thrilled to be back and hope to continue my relationship with our jewellery and pawnbroking customers. I hope to continue to deliver the high standards Brown’s is known and loved for.”

Her fellow staff members said: “Leanne has a very good rapport with our pawnbroking customers and a creative flair for window displays.

“She is recognised in town as a friendly and familiar face.

“We are very happy she is back as part of the team.”
