Heywood company AGM Services to make history by going carbon neutral

Date published: 26 April 2021

Heywood spray booth servicing and maintenance provider AGM Services is set to become the first company in its sector to become carbon neutral.

Partnering with energy and carbon specialists ECA Business Energy, AGM Services, which services spray booths across the UK motor repair industry, will be working towards the PAS2060 standard for carbon neutrality, aiming to meet this eco-friendly goal by this summer.

To meet the necessary criteria, the company’s carbon footprint will be measured across different scopes and a detailed carbon management plan will be implemented.

Speaking about this new business partnership, Wesley Young, Sales Director at AGM Services, said: “This is an incredibly exciting and important project and we’re very grateful to Steve and his team at ECA for the guidance they’re providing,”

“We see PAS2060 as “win-win-win”, as it’s not just the bodyshop and AGM that benefits from the changes implemented, the environment and society as a whole benefits.”

He added: “In addition to the PAS2060 standard, we’re also working on a green spray booth service package specifically aimed at cutting carbon emissions for bodyshop customers that will help them on their own journey to net zero whenever they’re ready to make that step.”

Steve Silverwood, Managing Director of ECA Business Energy, added: “In our short time working with Wesley and the team at AGM, it is clear they have a passion for doing the right thing – for their teams, their customers, supply chain and the environment.

“They have a short, medium and long term strategy around how they become not only a carbon neutral organisation but a net zero one. We look forward to working with them to help them reach their sustainability goals over the coming months and years.”

AGM Services was established in 1993 as a service division for Junair Spraybooths and has a network of 15 engineering service teams located throughout the UK.
