The Kickstart scheme closes to employers on Friday 17 December
Employers interested in joining the Kickstart Scheme only have until Friday (17 December) to apply – or to add additional placements onto existing grant agreements.
Kickstart is the government scheme offering a six-month full time paid work placement for young people (16-24) on universal credit, with the aim of getting them vital work experience to help kickstart their careers.
Whilst employers must apply by the end of the week, vacancies can be filled up until March 2022.
Additionally, anyone aged 16-24 and claiming Universal Credit can now find their own six months’ paid Kickstart placement via the government’s Find A Job portal, whilst a new temporary Jobcentre has opened in the Exchange Shopping Centre.
When you find a Kickstart Scheme job that you want to apply for, the site will direct you to send a journal message to your Work Coach including the job details and reference number.
On receipt of the journal message, the Work Coach can use the job reference number to search for the Kickstart Scheme job you have expressed an interest in.
Kickstart jobseekers can be booked in for interviews with various employers this week and next such as Busy Bins, Adecco, LTS Property Ltd, Meadows Care, IKON Sports, Quest Mead and Rochdale Borough Council.
Employers who would like more advice/information on the Kickstart Scheme should contact the local Kickstart District Account Manager by emailing Rochdale.EA@dwp.gov.uk with your query.
