The Vita Group has achieved a silver rating from EcoVadis
The Vita Group has achieved a silver rating from EcoVadis, a trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, further bolstering the Middleton polyurethane foam manufacturer's environmental credentials.
Ian Robb, CEO of the Vita Group, said: "Over the Vita Group's 70-year history, we have seen it as our responsibility to be at the vanguard of the development of sustainable technologies within the PU foam manufacturing industry.
“We are pleased to have been awarded the silver EcoVadis rating as it is external recognition of our strong environmental credentials."
During the assessment process, EcoVadis analysts considered The Vita Group's overall environmental management system, its policies, the actions the group has taken and the results it has seen. A silver award means that Vita Group was in the top 25% percentile (with an overall score between 56 and 66 out of 100).
Looking to the future, The Vita Group will continue to deliver upon the pledges made in its environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. It will be publishing its first annual sustainability report in the first half of 2022, which will document progress against the stretching environmental, social and governance objectives detailed in the vision.
Mr Robb added: "In recent years, the Vita Group has invested heavily in driving forward the circularity of our products. We've been improving the sustainability standard of our open operations, through cutting our carbon output amongst other things.
"It is a privilege to see that hard work awarded a silver sustainability rating from EcoVadis. However, we wouldn't be 'Vita' if we didn't wish to see higher ratings moving forward.
“Recent innovation developments position us to push even harder on our journey in 2022."
