Hopwood Hall College is inviting all prospective year 11 students to an open evening at both their Middleton and Rochdale campuses on Wednesday 15 November between 4pm-7pm.
It’s a great opportunity to take a tour of the campuses and see why the college was awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Education watchdog Ofsted in November 2016. The college has also recently seen its value added score improve even further, which means its learners achieve, and in many cases exceed, their predicted grades.
All attendees the opportunity to have a go at some of their courses and apply on the day with help from tutors. Specific activities already confirmed are:
- Meet the animals on a tour with veterinary nursing staff
- Analyse and compare your performance on watt bikes
- Join in rehearsals for their pantomime ‘Sleeping Beauty’
- See life under a microscope with the gardening team
If you’ve had enough of sitting in a classroom and you’d like to learn through practical experience, a BTEC qualification could be just what you’re looking for! With Level 3 courses equivalent to A Levels, they are a recognised pathway to higher education at university.
Hopwood Hall is also one of the highest performing colleges in Greater Manchester, with success rates that put them at the top of the league table for two years running. They offer a wide range of subjects from animal care through to vehicle maintenance and have an incredibly successful sports curriculum, working in partnership Rochdale AFC, Rochdale Hornets and England and Manchester City Women midfielder Jill Scott.
Additionally, all their students benefit from free gym membership, free breakfast, 8 free bus routes and up to £30 bursary per week (terms and conditions apply).
