Letter: Disabled denied parking
Date published: 15 March 2018
Greenman Landscapes parked in a disabled bay
This photo was taken late afternoon, Tuesday 6 March.
After parking diagonally on a disabled spot at Aldi off Mellor Street, the driver jumped out and ran into the supermarket. A work colleague sat in the passenger seat. No blue badge was displayed.
Would Rochdale Online consider asking the company whose details were emblazoned on the side of the van to comment about what was witnessed today?
Too many legitimate Blue Badge holders and their families suffer in silence because of unauthorised use of much-needed disabled parking spaces.
Often they face abuse and aggression when questioning drivers who do not display the requisite permission.
On the face of it, this photo suggests an extreme example of the often blatant abuse of disabled parking spaces.

Rochdale Online contacted Greenman Landscapes and they apologised for one of their drivers parking in a disabled spot and said the driver would be reprimanded.
