Letter: National Carers Week

Date published: 13 June 2018

Dear Editor,

As we celebrate National Carers Week, I would like to pay tribute to the 25,000 carers we have across the borough of Rochdale.

This army of selfless superstars do such a devoted and dedicated job throughout the year supporting family, friends and loved ones.

At a time when people are living longer, the caring role has never been as important.

That’s why the government needs to urgently match words with actions and provide carers with the financial support their selfless work deserves.

This week is a timely reminder of the sacrifices carers make, ensuring their loved ones have the best possible quality of life.

They really are the unsung heroes of the borough.
