Complaints of no phone signal in Milnrow

Date published: 20 January 2017

A lack of EE, Virgin and BT mobile signal has been reported in the Milnrow area this week.

Some have reported the signal being off since before Christmas whilst others have been affected for 48 hours. All three networks are affected as EE is the coverage provider for Virgin Mobile and BT Mobile.

On Monday (16 January), Jonathan Riley said: “BT Mobile is down again in Milnrow.”

Tony Wilkie said: “We have been without service off and on since 22 December. Quite ridiculous if you are infirm and the mobile phone is your only means of communication.

“Everyone we know in this area on Virgin and EE have been affected since December.”

Leslie Salisbury siad: “I’m with EE and have had problems since 4 January. It’s still not fixed so I reported it again last night.”

Glen Andrew added: “If I go 100 yards down the road, it comes back on. My internet works and I can send texts, but not phone calls.”

Clare Smith commented: “I’m having problems with BT.”

Natalie Wild said: “Lots of people are having problems; it’s been going on for weeks.”

Postcodes affected include OL16 3DW, OL16 3PT and OL16 4HX.

A spokesperson for BT Mobiles said: “We’re investigating reports of signal issues in the Rochdale area and apologise for any inconvenience this could be causing our customers.”

An EE spokesperson said: “We’re aware of reports of signal issues in the Rochdale area and are working to identify anything which could be causing a problem as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this could be causing our customers.”
