Date published: 16 May 2017

Professor Michael Wood has again visited Matthew Moss High School to share his knowledge with staff and students.

Professor Wood, who is responsible for the television series including ‘The Great British Story: A People’s History’ and ‘King Alfred and the Anglo Saxons’ spent the day presenting to Year 8 students about ‘The Excitement of History’ illustrated with clips from his documentaries.

“It was lovely to meet such sparky young people who asked very astute questions”, said Professor Wood, who is planning to return to the school again next year.

Head of Humanities Charlotte Leach-Rogers thanked Professor Wood for his continuing generosity with his time, his visits “never failing to inspire and excite learners.”

Further visiting lectures at Matthew Moss High School from Manchester University academies are planned.
