Graffic Detail raise total of £1,175.40 for Manchester Appeal

Date published: 22 June 2017

Graffic Detail have raised £1,175.40 towards the Manchester Appeal with Manchester Bee stickers.

Featuring a mosaic bee on a blue background with the words ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and the date of the attack, the stickers were printed and sold throughout Littleborough.

Janine Devine, owner of Graffic Detail, said: “I have the greatest pleasure to announce that all the Manchester bee stickers we printed and put in the shops throughout the Littleborough area have raised a staggering amount of £1,175.40. Thank you all, and to ATC for donating us some vinyl. The support has been incredible and you should all be proud of yourselves.”

The Manchester bee has quickly become associated nationwide with showing solidarity for the victims and their families of the attack. 22 people, including children, were killed and around a further 120 people injured during the explosion at an Ariana Grande concert one month ago.

The worker bee became a symbol of Manchester following the hard work and ‘hive of activity’ during the Industrial Revolution and represents the city’s innovative and enterprising past.

Bees can be found gracing various surfaces across Manchester from bins, lampposts and bollards to the floor tiles in Manchester Town Hall and in the city’s coat of arms, granted in 1842.
