Bikers wanted for memorable prom ride for Robert Holmes

Date published: 11 July 2017

Rigby’s Guardians are appealing for bikers across the borough to make Robert Holmes’ prom night on Tuesday 18 July one to remember.

The bike group, set up in memory of murdered soldier Lee Rigby in 2013, offered the Redwood pupil support when he was going through a lot with bullying and a fire destroyed his family home.

Founder of the club, Gavin Vitler, said: “Robert is a great kid. Nobody understood him and that his life was a constant battle. Things went from bad to worse and he became scared, constantly thinking the worst and began to lash out at his siblings and his mum.

“Rigby’s Guardians stepped in to offer Robert support, to join our little group and help out at events. He then felt like he belonged somewhere and became a valued member of the team. His mum says we’ve helped him become the young man he is now and without the support he would have been expelled from school, still a lost boy.”
