Date published: 12 July 2017

Russell Brown has donated £1,400 to the Rotary Club of Rochdale East in memory of his father Bill, a longstanding member of the club.

A solicitor practicing in Manchester, Mr Brown lives in Bamford with wife Yvette and sons William and Charlie, all keen sports fans.

He completed the Bolton Iron Man challenge in 2016, involving long distance open water swimming, a 50-cycle ride and a 10k run.

A member of the Rochdale Triathlon Club, his next challenge is to swim Windermere this summer.

Rotary Club of Rochdale East, President, Doug Sutton said: “The funds will be divided between British Heart Foundation and the Club Charitable Trust.”
