Calvin Andrew visits Tonacliffe Primary School
Date published: 21 September 2017
Rochdale AFC forward Calvin Andrew made a guest appearance at Tonacliffe Primary School in Whitworth on Tuesday afternoon.
Dale in the Community Sports trust were present at the school all week, delivering classroom sessions on the FA’s Respect campaign, as well as football coaching sessions to the students.
Andrew delighted the young students by holding a question and answer session, with plenty of questions fired at him.
He then signed hundreds of autographs for the children, before popping into the classroom to help students understand about the Respect campaign.
Head of Community Keith Hicks praised Andrew’s community efforts: “Calvin is a great community ambassador for the Football Club.
“It’s vitally important that the Club is engaged in the community, and he is a shining example of that.
“The FA’s Respect campaign is huge in helping to ensure a safe, positive environment in which to play the game.
“That’s why it is important for us as a Trust, and for local professional footballers, to be actively involved in the Community and teach children about the Respect campaign.”
