Rochdale teenage singing sensation and Voice Kids UK finalist, Riccardo Atherton is set to perform at the Empire’s family fun day in aid of Springhill Hospice on Sunday 22 October.

His journey began with a stunning audition, which was met with screams and cheers from the audience, singing Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’, where all three judges turned round to snap up his talent. His video rendition of the track is currently the most popular on the Voice Kids UK channel with over 1.2 million online views.

The day promises to be child-friendly with something for everyone with live performances from Rochdale’s finest artists, including Olivia Bigbsy, X-Factor finalist Danny Dearden, Suzanne Hassett, Ben Anderson and the Men-In-Black.

10-year-old Olivia Bigsby is a singing jazz-vocalist. Rochdale's very own future superstar performed live on stage for the first time during this year’s Feel Good Festival, stunning the audiences with her vocal talent.

Danny Dearden reached the final six at Mel B’s house in Mexico during the 2014 edition of the X-Factor. Since then, he has supported some well-known acts such as ‘Jess Glynne, Shayne Ward, Example, Karen Harding, 911, JLS and Little Mix.

Suzanne Hassett is Rochdale’s very own well-loved talented vocal star performer, who will be singing various hit songs from the 70s and 80s right up to the most recent charts hits.

Ben Anderson, a young male vocalist will be performing four beautiful renditions of emotional power ballads.

If that wasn’t enough, be ready to get your tail feathers shaking to the Men-In-Black, a local tribute act performing all the big hits from the ‘Blues Brothers’.

Even more entertainment and face-painting will be available throughout the day, courtesy of Daisy Dan’s Dizzy Disco and Little Unicorn Facepainting.

Watch out for Springhill’s very own mascot, Springy, making a grand appearance, and you might even spot the Incredible Spiderman taking a break from fighting crime as he swings by.

All the family is welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

A £3.00 on-the-door donation is required with all money going to the Hospice.

The fun day runs between 2pm and 7.30pm on Sunday 22 October: Adults are welcome to stay until closing.
