Date published: 01 November 2017

Norden's Jubilee park gained the highest grade of 'outstanding', in the RHS 'Britain in bloom' awards in Southport on Wednesday (1 November).

The judges were particularly impressed with the new planting in the park, community involvement and the four hanging basket stands.

Paul Ellison and Phil Starr were on hand to receive the recognition as Jubilee Park achieved the maximum level five 'Outstanding' for the North West It's Your Neighbourhood category, bringing success back to Norden Village.

Paul said: “Thank you to all the volunteers who were involved with the work over the last year. Rochdale in Bloom received many outstanding and thriving entries for It's Your Neighbourhood.

"We are also looking forward to hopefully receiving Gold at Friday’s RHS awards for Rochdale Township In Bloom.”
