This week our Year 6 children had a visit from the Fire Brigade. This has become an annual event in school with the fire service talking about safety around fireworks and bonfire night.

Living Streets - Walk to School

We are pleased to announce that the badges have now been distributed to children.

We remind parents to download the app (WOW walk to school app) to make the badge come to life.

The badge for November is based around the Californian Coast and children need to walk to school at least once a week to earn this. Let’s get walking in order to get fitter and reduce pollution and congestion around school.

Poppies and other items (wristbands etc.) for sale are currently in school if children wish to bring 50p to purchase one. They are on a first come first served basis.

A massive than you to all parents and family members who joined us on Thursday this week to launch our new home-school reading initiative. If any parents weren’t able to come in to the assembly, can they please ask their child about it or their child’s teacher when you get the chance. Parents support and enthusiasm for reading is vital to children reading journey and we are so happy to be on it with you all.

School Photos were given to children on Thursday 2 November. Please can parents return them to school as soon as possible. Please can parents either write their correct bank details or send in the correct money in the envelope provided. Change will not be given in the school office. All photographs have to be back in school by Friday 10 November. Also, if parents have children in different classes they can put the photographs all in the same envelope.

Hamer ‘Stars of the Week’ for the week ending Friday 3 October are:

Nursery am - Murtaza
Nursery pm - Ayaaz
Reception - Afizah & Zeenat
Mrs Brown - Ibrahim
Mrs Casey - Muqadas
Miss Nicholson - Luqman
Miss Davison - Cassie
Mrs Booth - Aleena
Miss Begum - Maymunah
Mr Barraclough Momena
Mr Nadin - Muizz
Mrs Elliott - Armaan

Well done to all of our stars of the week and keep up the excellent work.

Citizens of the week are the Community Cohesion Group for fantastic behaviour whilst at another school and for asking grown up questions.

Well done to Mrs Elliott’s Class for the best attendance for week ending 20 October.

We request that everybody who parks at the back of the car park or on M6 car park does not walk across the car park.

There is a pavement and a footpath that can be used to avoid danger where cars are parked and where families are moving. Even if it is “the long way round”, rather this than a nasty accident. Thank You.
