Year 3 and Year 4 Trip

Last week, the children in Year 3 and Year 4 enjoyed fantastic trips out to Ordsall Hall.

They had fun extending their topic of The Tudors by experiencing some very hands-on learning and role play. All behaviour reports were excellent and we were, as always, very proud of the way our children represented the school and their families when off-site, with enthusiasm and fabulous behaviour choices.

The children were also awarded the Citizens of the week for their excellent behaviour and manners whilst at Ordsall Hall.

Well Wrapped-Up

The weather is still very cold and there have been one or two children coming to school without jumpers and warm winter-wear. Please can parents make sure the children are well wrapped-up.

School Route Audit

All our parents will have recently received a letter about a school route audit that is due to take place at 9am on Tuesday 23 January. The audit has been arranged by Living Streets (the charity who organise the walk to school initiative that we are running this year).

We have asked them to carry out the audit in response to the many complaints that we get from parents about the subway each year and we need parents help with this.

The audit will involve a charity representative, Mr Buxton- Moore, parent representatives, Governors and children spending 45 minutes or so walking some of the common routes to school.

We will identify potential problems with the routes and a report will be sent to the local council in the hope that measures can be taken to make the areas around school safer for our children.

In order to make this event worthwhile, it is vital that we have some parents in attendance. We cannot tackle this issue alone and we really need parent voices to be added to ours.

If any parents are available for an hour or so on the morning and would like to get involved, please contact Mrs Terry at school.
