Have you any gardening skills and a bit of spare time? The vicarage garden is a big one and is in need of considerable care and attention, anyone with a spade and an hour or two to spare on Saturday, April 14 and/or 21, between 11am and 3pm, is invited to come along and roll up their sleeves. Lunch will be provided.

There is also have a Coffee Morning, in aid of Christian Aid, on Saturday, April 21 at 10am in the parish room.

St Andrew's, Dearnley have their biggest event on their annual social calendar coming up on Saturday, April 28 when they stage our St George's Night.

Wardle Anderson Brass will lead the patriotic pomp and ceremony - who better? -- and Lords of Whitworth will do the catering which will take the form of potato pie with a vegetarian option.

Doors open at 6.30pm for 7pm and tickets, £10, are available from Ada on 07854 703 426.
