Whitworth enjoys Family Fun Day

Date published: 11 July 2018

Whitworth enjoyed its annual Family Fun Day on Sunday.

Attractions on the Riverside car park included funfair rides and games, ice cream and candy floss.

Samba Dance and Fitness provided entertainment with their dance teams and there were a range of fundraising and craft stalls to tempt visitors.

RRG Toyota Rochdale supported the event by supplying a new Aygo covered in paw prints and the community guessed the number of prints to win a gigantic teddy dog.

The winner was Annaleese Hinchliffe who was the closest guess to the 605-paw print total.

Councillor David Chorlton, chairman of the Whitworth Tourism and Leisure Committee, said: “We had a great day in the glorious sunshine and thanks are offered to everyone who came along and joined in the fun, and to everyone involved in the event’s organisation.  Roll on 2019.”

The annual Family Fun Day at the Riverside is organised by the Whitworth Tourism and Leisure Committee volunteers.
