Temporary closure of Castleton Post Office

Date published: 19 July 2018

Castleton Post Office is once again closed.

Councillor Billy Sheerin said: “Our Post office has been closed for the past three weeks and the people of my village are very angry at this. The service the Post Office is providing is really poor and unacceptable."

A Post Office spokesperson said: ““We sincerely apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Castleton Post Office.

“We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services.  We would like to reassure customers that the decision to suspend services at any of our branches is never taken lightly.  We take very seriously any decision to temporarily close a branch, and will only do so when it is warranted.

“We are working hard to restore services for the community as quickly as possible.”

“In the meantime customers can access Post Office services from any convenient branch including:

Sudden Post Office, 408 Manchester Road, Rochdale OL11 4PE

Kirkholt Post Office, 7-8 The Strand, Rochdale OL11 2JG”
