Middleton artist raises £350 for Fire Fighters Charity

A Middleton artist has raised £350 for the Fire Fighters charity following this summer’s moorland fires.
Steve Whitworth, who paints nostalgic scenes of his hometown, created four pieces of artwork which were raffled off ay MiddFest earlier this year.
In addition to this, a blind auction was held, and the prize was a signed photograph of Alex Ferguson which was donated by a local businessman. This also raised £350.
A cheque for the funds raised was presented at a special ceremony at Heywood Fire Station on Friday (7 September).
Steve said: “This is my tribute to the brave servicemen and women fighting to keep us safe, and also thinking of all our service people both past and present living in and around Middleton.”
The Fire Fighters charity exists to support the everyday heroes of the UK fire community, whether injured, ill or in need of psychological support.
