Victoria Whiting, from Middleton, - also known as ‘Aspling, Girl on the Spectrum’ – has been nominated for her outstanding contribution in changing communities.
She said: “I feel so privileged to have been nominated for the 2018 Autism Leaders List. I advocate to give autistic people a voice and to share my experiences with the world with the hope of helping others.
“I am so grateful for all the support I receive and will continue to advocate for as long as I can. Thank you to everyone who nominated me for this amazing award.”
The Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List 2018 is the UK’s first national listing of people with learning disabilities or autism who are helping make things better for themselves and others.
The Learning Disability and Autism Leaders’ List 2018 will be published on the International Day of Disabled Persons in December.
The top-60 list will be published in the Guardian newspaper and website, with interviews with 10 handpicked individuals.
