Date published: 08 February 2016

Many people, particularly families, visited Neeli Mosque on Hare Street, Rochdale as part of Visit My Mosque Day on Sunday (7 February).

The open day was an opportunity for people to see how Muslims connect to God, connect to communities and to neighbours around them.

Deputy Mayor Raymond Dutton, Councillor Janet Emsley, Dobir Miah of CommuniTea, Muhammad Sarwar of MAMC, Rev Shammy of Unitarian Church, Ian from Rochdale Youth Offenders Services and Multi Faith Partnership representatives, representatives of Greater Manchester Fire Service, former councillor Robin Parker and Ann Jones were amongst the visitors.

A spokesperson for Neeli Mosque said: "It was very heart warming to receive such support and we hope to build on these relationships as part of our efforts to strengthen community bonds in Rochdale.

"Thanks to the volunteers for their hard work."
