New Aldi store opens in Milnrow
Date published: 17 March 2016
Hundreds of Milnrow shoppers queued overnight to be in with a chance of winning a prize as the new Aldi store opened this morning (Thursday 17 March).
Staff members handed out golden envelopes to the first 100 customers to go through the doors of the new supermarket on Elizabethan Way, after Taekwondo world champion Bianca Walkden cut the ribbon.
Shopping vouchers, a TV and Aldi hampers were all available to customers who had been waiting outside the store for hours.
Local passer by Torii May said: “At 5am there were about 20 people. All looked like men too.”
