Bikers deliver Christmas gifts to local charity

Date published: 22 December 2016

Members of Critters Motorcycle Club delivered Christmas gifts to children at Rochdale based charity WHAG (Women’s Housing Action Group) last Friday (16 December).

Departing from the Flower of the Valley pub on Halifax road, the bikers rode, one of them dressed as Santa, to deliver a sack full of toys, games and books to children living at the charity’s safe house, where vulnerable women and children reside having fled abusive relationships.

The gifts were either donated or bought through contributions made by other motorcycle clubs, friends and family members, as well as by the bikers themselves.

Organiser Tony Seymour told Rochdale Online: "It’s been brilliant to see people giving so generously, but we’ve also dipped into our own pockets too. We figured that rather than spend everything on our own kids, who get loads anyway, we’ll all spend a little less and divert the saved money to children who are less fortunate than our own."
