Rochdale businesses open their doors for Sixth Form students

Date published: 04 May 2017

Rochdale Sixth Form students were lucky enough to take part in Career Placements over the Easter break at businesses across the borough, including leading IT firms and Care Homes.

Rochdale Sixth Form encourage students to take advantage of their excellent industry contacts and where possible take part in a career placement whilst completing their studies. These placements give them valuable experience for future roles.

Student Performance and Development Leader for Employability and Career Placements, Chris Reddy, said: “On behalf of the College we would like to thank all the businesses who took part in the career placements and for making it possible for the students to gain such valuable experience. The feedback from the businesses and students has been fantastic and this is definitely an initiative that we will be repeating next year.”

Jack Powell said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Tetrosyl as no day was the same and the people I worked with were so helpful. I will be keeping in touch with them all and am grateful to the College for helping me to secure this opportunity.”

All the students who took part in the career placements were from year 13 studying a variety of subjects.

Some of the businesses that took part are Casey Environmental, Tetrosyl, Creative Networks (an IT firm), KP Industries, Edmund Bell and Paul Cheetham Eyecare.
