The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers unveils new 50th anniversary logo

Date published: 19 May 2017

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers has unveiled a new logo to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2018. This significant year will be known as ‘Fusilier 50’.

The Fusilier 50 logo will raise the profile of the Regiment as they approach their 50th Anniversary and will feature in all marketing material, special events and merchandise. The new logo is a simple, modern take on the Regiment’s well known badge and red and white hackle.

The logo’s unveiling comes one year before the formal anniversary of the Regiment on the 23 April next year.

A programme of special and commemorative events has been pulled together by the Regiment’s Fusilier 50 Committee which has been set up to publicise the Regiment and its anniversary. Events will run throughout 2018 and will cater for all serving and veteran Fusiliers and their families, including parades, memorial services, military dinners and gatherings in the Regiment’s four recruiting areas.

Colonel (Retd) James Denny, Regimental Secretary for The Fusiliers, said: “We are really excited with the new logo for Fusilier 50 and we all look forward to seeing it in many places in the forthcoming months.

"It’s a totally modern look for the Regiment whilst still incorporating the distinct red and white hackle. We hope everyone is as drawn to the new look as much as we are and we look forward to welcoming cadets, potential recruits, serving Fusiliers and Fusilier veterans to the planned events which begin on St George’s Day 2018.”

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers is an infantry Regiment within the British Army and was formed by the amalgamation of four English Fusilier Regiments in 1968. Since its formation the Regiment has been involved in service across the world in Northern Ireland, Cyprus, the Balkans, the 1st and 2nd Gulf Wars and Afghanistan.
