Mark Dawson appointed new centre manager of Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre

Date published: 29 June 2017

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre has appointed Mark Dawson as its new centre manager as of Saturday (24 June).

Mr Dawson takes over from previous centre manager Debbie Hernon, who will be running the Charter Walk Shopping Centre in Burnley.

Mr Dawson said: “We’d like to wish Debbie the best of luck in her new position and thank her for all she’s done here at the Wheatsheaf.

“I’m sure all would agree with me that whilst Debbie was here for the last three years, the Centre has turned a corner and improved from where it was.”

The newly-appointed centre manager has worked at the Wheatsheaf for eight years, in a variety of positions. Starting out as a security guard, he has since spent several years as both operations manager and facilities manager.

Mr Dawson’s appointment arrives after the Centre, which opened in 1990, was bought on Friday (23 June) by MCR Property Group. The Wheatsheaf has spent just short of seven years in receivership after it went into receivership in August 2010.
