Community groups across Rochdale enjoyed immense success at the RHS North West In Bloom awards in Southport on Wednesday (1 November).

For the ‘It's Your Neighbourhood’ category, Roch Valley Outdoor Learning Site, Jubilee Park in Norden, Moss Row Allotments, The Growth Project were all awarded the maximum Level 5 Outstanding, with Raven dale Residents, Cutgate and the Rochdale AFC Wonderwall both awarded Level 4 Thriving.

Success was evident right across the borough as the Rochdale, Heywood and Pennine Township entries were all presented with gold awards, the highest individual award for a Township. Middleton, in its first year at the competition, won a silver medal.

Rochdale was also nominated to go forward as the category representative for the main Britain in Bloom competition.

The accolade is the culmination of a year of work which has been undertaken by many local people, groups and projects from right across Rochdale Township with the support of Rochdale Council and the Environmental Management team.
