Council in the running for two local government awards

Date published: 13 November 2017

Rochdale Borough Council has been shortlisted in the ‘driving growth’ and ‘digital council of the year’ categories at the national Local Government Chronicle awards ceremony.

Held annually, the awards recognise best practice and innovative services.

Steve Rumbelow, the council’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards. It is a credit to council staff who, day in day out, deliver award winning services across the borough. Our innovative policies, bringing people and place together, and working with the private sector to create jobs, boost investment and increase prosperity are being recognised nationally. That is something we can all be proud of.”

Winners will be announced on 21 March 2018 at the awards ceremony.
