Faded directional road markings raise safety concerns
Date published: 13 November 2017
Faded directional road markings at Middleton Tesco Extra store are causing concern for road safety.
Local shoppers at the Middleton branch fear the unclear markings, which are near-impossible to detect at night, could lead to a collision.
Anthony Vose said: “The worn-away traffic signs have never been repainted since the store opened. Many are barely visible in daylight and are a dangerous health and safety hazard.
“There have already been a lot of near misses and possibly one or two collisions due to this. Why not just put up no entry signs at the ends of the lanes to prevent traffic travelling in the wrong direction?”
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We appreciate all our customer feedback and will be working with our maintenance team to address this concern.”
