Rock Choir flash mob Middleton shoppers

Date published: 27 November 2017

Shoppers at Middleton Shopping Centre were entertained by a ‘surprise’ flash mob on Saturday as members from the East Manchester Rock Choir performed whilst raising funds for their adopted charity Nordoff Robins – that helps change and improve lives through music therapy.

Choir Leader Anthony Clegg began the flash mob by singing the first verse of Hallelujah (the famous Leonard Cohen classic) and was soon joined by 30 plus members of his choir who seemed to materialise out of nowhere.

They then revealed their Rock Choir shirts and continued to entertain shoppers with a 30-minute session of some of their current repertoire along with, of course, some Christmas songs.

Anthony said of the event of Saturday: “The public were thoroughly entertained and really enjoyed the music, and what is more we managed to raise over £250 for Nordoff Robins charity.”
