Winward, director of Pad Printers Limited, will now spend just six years and six months in jail for the offences after a review of sentence was carried out by the judge who brought the case back to court on Friday (1 December).

He was initially given 10 years for the first five offences, running concurrently, with three years concurrent for the sixth and six months concurrent for the final charge.

Winward has also been ordered to ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and has been served a barring notice to prevent him working with children.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was under the age of 14 when the assaults took place between June 1985 and December 1989.
