Dale to donate unsold food to local charity Stepping Stone

Date published: 18 December 2017

Rochdale AFC is to donate unsold food items from the club’s kiosks on match days to Stepping Stone, a local charity.

Stepping Stone is a provider of housing, support and charitable services for people in Rochdale who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.

The leftover food will go to those housed in accommodation supported by Stepping Stone.

Christine Lynam from Stepping Stone said: “A hot pie is something that is really warming, and that is exactly how we feel about the club getting involved with Stepping Stone.

“The food will go to all our sites across Rochdale, where we house homeless people with complex needs such as alcohol issues and rent arrears, to name just two.

“Life can be very difficult for some people, especially around Christmas time.

“On behalf of Stepping Stone Projects, I would like to thank Rochdale Football Club for the wonderful gesture.”
