Date published: 04 January 2018

Mz J4zzie is a law graduate turned rapper from Rochdale.

Despite rapping and singing since a very young age, Mz J4zzie – real name Jasmine Remi-Ilori - planned to graduate with her degree before beginning her rap career. She graduated with an LLB degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2017.

Last year, she was part of a group her singer and songwriter mother created called “No Limits”, a group who came together to create a song about world peace.

In the 11 months that Mz J4zzie has been rapping, she has performed in 14 cities including Cardiff, Liverpool and London.

Inspired by Tupac, Lil Kim and Foxy Brown, the Rochdale rapper has also had the opportunity to support big acts, including Not3s and Ms Banks.

She said: “My main plan is to start the year with visuals that demonstrate how feisty, sophisticated and confident I am. I will also be releasing a music video for my latest song, ‘Wavey’ which is a a remix on the hit single by Lumidee, Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh).

“I will also be participating in more shows, bringing out a new single this year and working on collaborations.”

To date, Mz J4zzie has released four videos online with over 100,000 views for her songs ‘Friendly Remix’, ‘Leave Me Alone’, ‘Shutdown’ and ‘Whip Whip Skrr’. Her music can be found on YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, Spotify and Google Play.
