Concern for man's welfare following gas incident

A man has voluntarily gone to hospital after concern for his welfare.

A fire service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a gas leak.

"One man has been removed by police, and we isolated the gas supply.”

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called to Marne Crescent at 2.20pm to reports of concern for a man’s welfare. We attended with fire and ambulance services.

“Police entered the property and the man, who was in his 50s, was treated by paramedics. He has voluntarily gone to hospital.”

Emergency services were on scene until around 5pm.
