Two Rochdale men killed in car crash

Two men from Rochdale died after their car overturned when it crashed into a parked vehicle.

The 30-year-old driver and his passenger, aged 22, died when when their dark coloured Ford Focus, travelling towards Bacup on Todmorden Road, crashed into a parked Vauxhall Astra and overturned at about 1:30am on Sunday.

The pair were pronounced dead in hospital. Their families are being supported by specially trained officers.

Sergeant Finn Quainton from the Road Policing Unit said: “We need anyone who may have seen the Ford Focus car leading up to the collision to get in contact with us as they may have vital information that could assist with our investigation.”
