Date published: 19 April 2018

Three fire engines attended the Wheatsheaf Centre Shopping Centre on Thursday (19 April).

The fire service were called due to smoke in the New Look store from an electrical transformer of a light fitting in the roof void.

A spokesman for the fire service confirmed at around 3.35pm: “An offensive firefight is in operation. The shop fitting has been removed and they are using a thermal scanner.”

The Wheatsheaf Centre remains open, however New Look has been closed until Friday morning (20 April).
