A burglar who targeted elderly residents in sheltered accommodation has been jailed after admitting a number of offences at Manchester Crown Court.

Leon David Lewis, originally from Middleton, is understood to have recently been released from prison when he targeted properties across Middleton, Rochdale, Chadderton, Royton and Shaw to fund a drug habit.

His mini crime wave carried on from December 2017 to March 2018.

Lewis admitted seven counts of burglary and one of theft, before being sentenced to seven years and four months’ imprisonment.
